OUR LOVE EXPLODED IN ART SCHOOL
We merged our colours and shared true Art

OUR LOVE EXPLODED IN ART SCHOOL
Our love exploded in art school,
Right next to pottery class,
You said that I was beautiful,
Then slipped and fell on your arse.
You painted me in purple,
I painted you in green,
The teacher called it nonsense,
The best she’d ever seen.
We kissed behind the easels,
And knocked the charcoal down,
You somehow wore the canvas,
I somehow wore the brown.
Our hearts became neuro lines,
That wandered everywhere,
They curled around the tables,
And tangled in my hair.
We coloured every corner,
In orange, pink and blue,
I couldn’t find the picture,
Until I spotted you.
You hid inside the yellow,
I danced inside the red,
A purple blob looked worried,
At something that we’d said.
They threw us out by lunchtime,
For crimes against fine art,
But no one could untangle,
The lines around my heart.
Our love exploded in art school,
And splattered every wall,
They called the whole thing madness,
We called it art—that’s all.
