Our Lives

A Poem

We take our lives for granted

when there is only one

one day after the next

and after that, and so on

live today like it is your last

tomorrow’s bullets can hit fast

we are here as mortal souls

yet we live our lives out of control

existence is crumbling in a sinkhole

quick sand is now quality control

Enemies jumped out of the screams

watching them as I dream

what does all of this mean?

Don’t let reminiscing, hijack your wings

Don’t take other lives for assumption

for they live in a different dungeon

everyone has their own eruptions

be there for them, when in destruction
