OUR ANCESTORS
And yours

They hanged many women,
Some burned in a pyre.
One man was pressed.
Eradication, their desire.
All were accused,
Most of them died,
Some without ever
Being officially tried.
“Guilty”, they shouted
With fists raised in glee.
But many escaped
And finally felt free.
But karma’s a bitch,
So it is said.
Ancestors live on
With gifts from the dead.
So if you happen to be
Related to those
Who killed all the witches
And anyone they chose -
Keep watching your back,
For, it’s Karma, you see,
Their ancestry lives on -
And that includes me.
