Orange

I never thought that I would pick you,

in my mind I try and paint it,

the golden hour light cascading from your bedroom

a whisper in this light sends me scarlet.

One gentle hue my eyes flicker in-between,

the soft glimmer of sleepy city lights

traces my skin (peel),

a melting candle by the bedside

And 4am LED's.

Laying in consolation I fall into your silhouette -

the warmth in this room,

I let my eyes flop

and my resting body drop.

Knowing that you'll outline me.
