OPTIMISM

Try, try again.

The sun tries desperately

To peek through

The darkening clouds

As the spread across the sky.

Yet, fingers of light

Start to reach out,

Trying with all their might

To grasp the smallest patch of blue.

And while the gray remains,

I can see the gloom of the day

Fading as it’s being overpowered by

The illuminating halo of light

I am a 79-year old grandmother who loves to write, fish, and grab my camera to capture the beautiful scenery I see around me.

My husband and I found our paradise in Punta Gorda Florida where the weather always keeps us guessing.
