I promised myself

that I would not

go back to that

reflection

but I am still

attached

to the shards

of glass

embedded

in my skin.

and as I've tried

to pick them

out

there's always someone

pressing them

back

in

the ones I've dug

out

with a sword

I polished

turning broken fragments

into facets

that can sparkle

and there in lies

hope

one day

maybe

all of me

can

shine
