Open Windows
Morning arrived without asking,
soft through the open window frame,
bringing a quiet kind of promise
that settled gently into the day.
I stepped outside with open hands,
left yesterday where it belonged,
watched the air move through the trees
and felt the world begin again.
There is something kind in simple things,
warm cups and familiar roads,
small moments gathering together
until they become enough.
No need to rush the hours ahead,
they arrive in their own good time,
each one carrying something new
for eyes willing to notice.
The sky stretched wide above me,
clouds drifting without concern,
reminding me not everything
needs holding too tightly.
I thought about all the places
hope appears without warning,
in conversations and quiet smiles,
in days that ask nothing at all.
So today I choose lighter thoughts,
space for laughter and calm,
space to enjoy what is here
without measuring what comes next.
And when evening finally arrives,
I will carry this with me—
that ordinary days can still
leave beautiful marks behind.
