I used to read your poems

they spoke to me as a child

I wanted to be a writer,

to be a writer I had to dream.

I used to read them and wonder

just how do you get that way.

I used to read your poems but lately you don't write you're silent and aloof you know that isn't right

So you write these words and they come to my ears.

But one day we'll see each other face to face.

I used to read your poems

before I realised

that I was unearthing scars

that were healed too soon

before you could be brave.

Oh you thought your secret was safe

But it was written in the stars

Your words were the ink to the stars

Oh oh they shone

And they will never void

The beauty in your words

the words you wrote

surreal poetry
