Onward Ho!

When a Journey Finds You

Onward Ho!

Beat as the brush on a windy day

I drove on home, work not far enough away

I took to the road, fast as I could go

And the sun came out ‘the clouds, wouldn’t ‘ya know

It had rained, and being the poem-writing me

I waited for the exodus to bring it to me

And passed it had, gone with the clouds far

Along the horizon, as I saw along in my car

A thought walked in, as I sped along

Avoiding the traffic, oh what more could be wrong

It said with a smile, “pick a happy place and go”

So I pointed towards the clouds, shouting, “Onward ho!”
