Onward and Upward

Forward motion keeps me standing

By K.B. Silver Published 12 months ago 1 min read

My mind

Has become

A Shining fortress

Keeping me sheltered

From the storm

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

I shall not

Shake or quaver

Even as

I gaze in horror

Beholding others

Stumble, fallen

Mindlessly battling

The bitter cold

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

I know my past

Shan’t overtake me

I run straight forward

On a line of beaten gold

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

My primary occupation

To keep ahead of

My own ghostly

Echoing effervescent moans

Still grasping at my

Fugitive free flying soul

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

No matter the speed

With which I flee

The height I climb

Ladders and trees

Talons of

Doubt and manipulation

Grapple with the rungs

𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ𐀔

Slashing

With overwhelming force

Tearing down

The wooden support

Below my high-stepping heels

The fate of my past

Continues on its rampaging path

Yet I never lose ground

Gaining altitude, lifting off

Double jumping

Victorious

As it plunges back

Down to the hazy land
