Copycat citizens scramble to find purpose in nothingness. An argument, a fight, a crippling attempt to feel something.

Living in the moment only goes so far, when life is just a string of moments frayed on one end and aflame on the other. Disguise your fears with laughter and joy. Collect a year's worth of memories in a three-sentence post and a couple of photographs whose existence you can be reminded of five years from now.

We hurt, we celebrate, then we hurt even more. We never get our way until we do. There is always someone who is hurting because we aren't.

We can just agree to disagree. What else do we achieve? Before we know it, the party is over. Everyone went home. A return to monotony. We are a blip.

We do what we can to distract ourselves from the inevitability of it all. The broken second hand on the grandfather clock of the universe keeps skipping the same four seconds over and over again. So why not do what you want. Take that trip you’ve been fantasizing about and have that extra donut. Ask that special someone out. Do what must be done to maintain what level of happiness works for you, but remind yourself you are on a rock, spinning in the emptiness of space.

Everyone panics over the next popular worry when my only worry is if I will ever get an answer to the question "Does anything truly matter anymore"?
