Only Today

A Tick of the Clock

By Dan R FowlerPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Only Today

Before me, it stands proudly,

Not singing nor shouting loudly.

Traveling ahead each tick of the clock,

Etching in time, many colors like chalk.

It only remains for the time given,

There aren’t repeats, moments of forgiving.

For within this passage, we have today,

Are challenges enough for just one day.

Cherish the moments, your life’s song,

For it is in the now that we belong.

Yesterday’s moments are now memories captured,

Tomorrow’s dreams are fragmented and fractured.

No clear vision of what is ahead,

Mysterious imagines, some spiritual it’s said.

But my soul ventures onward into the day,

Knowing that whatever is there it’s okay.

Someone watches over me both day and night,

Who holds me close making everything alright.

‘Tis another day that will open to us again,

And as before, I’ll close my prayer with amen.
