A battle cry

A battle cry.

The beat of drums.

A darkened sky.

The war begun.

"It's time,"

Scream the generals, ready to lead,

"It's time,"

Echoes down the line -- ready to bleed.

Years in the making, but still come too soon.

Freedom at stake, this gray afternoon.

Thump. Thump.

Racing beats.

Thump. Thump.

Aching feet.

Thump. Thump.

Death we greet.

Too quiet, they start.

A skip in their heart.

A breath held too long.

The feeling of wrong.

The heat of fire

And crack of stone

Now comes the hour.

Fight for the throne!

First strike shakes the ground,

As rain starts to pour.

A cracking boom sounds.

Shouts echo once more.

The flurry and frenzy and fear from the front.

A ripple, a roar! The river runs red.

The clamorous cries.

An anger inside.

For some, hope -- it dies.

For others, it'll rise.

Boom.

Thump. Thump.

"AAARHHH!"

Whoosh.

The cost is high.

Too many die.

But still they fight with sword and spell.

For only the free live well.
