I didn't realize the first time

Only happens once

After that everything is an echo

Hollow and incomplete

The touch of a first love

Brailles a story on the heart

Revealing unique, cryptic messages

Making sequels feeble

A heartbreak shakes

Like a 7.0 earthquake

Breaking the soul in two

Creating a chasm of desire

When love ends

The umbilical cord wraps

The neck restricting air,

Suffocating passion

When the cord is cut

All sustenance is removed

Leaving loneliness

Never returning to that womb

I didn't realize the first time

Only happens once

But hope the second time

Paints a picture of hope
