Only happy when it rains

I’m only happy when it rains,

When the sweet summer air

Becomes cool, damp and plain,

When the sun is caught in dark clouds snare,

.

I watch the birds huddle in trees,

As creatures seek sweet shelter

In the brush and dense green leaves,

I long for the change in breeze to be felt here

.

For I find no comfort in the garish sunlight,

Forced to face my darkness rather than hide it inside,

I’d rather find comfort in the pitter patter of rain at night

Than look at that lonely dark shadows that I hide

.

So as long as the warm summer air is filled with sweet water

I can hide my darkness with yours a little longer
