Only A Shell

I No Longer Suffer

By Chrystal HoldrenPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Still as the wind with no breeze

I invoke nature to bring me peace

Listening for any proof of existence besides me

Embracing only energy that surrounds me

Night is approaching and I fall to my knees

Crying alone in the only place I’ve ever called home

Emerging from the body I no longer own

Acrostic

About the Creator

Chrystal Holdren

I have always been “messed up” or “crazy”, “psycho” or “nuts” in the eyes of others. I finally realized maybe it’s just easier for those eyes to see me that way instead of trying to understand the pain I’ve been through in my life.
