Oneness

To those there when it was hard.

There is a piece

of you

.

in me. Every person

who was there

to quench flames,

.

sort through ash,

.

hands blistered

moving pieces

of rubble, searching

.

for lost parts

of the self.

.

The ones who

healed burns,

.

put jagged edges

back together,

.

I feel you in me.

.

I feel your love.

I feel your compassion.

I feel your forgiveness.

I feel your mercy.

.

A part of you is me.

.

It will be this way now.

It will be this way tomorrow.

.

In some sense,

it was always so.

.

Because all moments

bleed into this moment,

.

the oneness of now.

We are one.
