There is a piece

of you

in me. Every person

who was there

to quench flames,

sort through ash,

hands blistered

moving pieces

of rubble, searching

for lost parts

of the self.

The ones who

healed burns,

.

put jagged edges

back together,

.

I feel you in me.

.

I feel your love.

I feel your compassion.

I feel your forgiveness.

I feel your mercy.

.

A part of you is me.

.

It will be this way now.

It will be this way tomorrow.

In some sense,

it was always so.

.

Because all moments

bleed into this moment,

the oneness of now.

We are one.
