One Truth Remains

… he’s in charge of this exchange.

Be not the fool who is receptive

to the charlatan and cheat

for what you know can be deceptive;

possibly exact but not complete.

.

His truth (not yours) is often subtle

and sometimes difficult to grasp

sometimes it's open to rebuttal

sometimes the bastard of a rasp.

.

What's real through comprehension

may seem absurd or somewhat strange

may be hardly worth a mention,

but be sure, he’s in charge of this exchange.

.

Throughout the deal one truth remains

corruption thrives where confusion reigns.

.

About the Creator

Tim Grace

A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.

This hits a bit differently today than back in 2011. Nicely done.
