but apparently the love you said
you had for me wasn’t enough.
Because while we were together,
you hooked up with Mary Jane too,
until one day not even she was enough for you.
Then, you left us both for Christina,
who, after just one kiss had her hooks in you.
Had you addicted.
Held you captive in her poisoned prison.
And I no longer recognize you now,
she keeps you on a tight leash,
but if you can,
answer me just one question,
was she worth it?

A Busy Memory
There was sunlight skipping off the road, reflecting off of other cars, making it hard for me to know which way I was flying by. If not for focus, there's no telling where I would land. Maybe I wouldn't land at all but instead continue sailing into the sun, into the light that burns holes where my eyes used to be. I wonder how it would feel to burn up while on the way to something with mundane importance. One moment you could be full of purpose and then in the next, you are nothing more than a busy memory.

On Winning and Losing
Recently, the pleasant surprise of placement on the Vocal Bonus Leaderboard sent me down a rabbit hole. Now, rabbit holes are a pretty common place for me to spend time, but I don't always feel the call to write about them. To be honest, the thought of sharing some of them mortifies me.
