i will not follow you
the sign reads « do not enter »
instead, i’ll witness you,
and in letting go, remember,
to walk on towards all we could be
into what is, and is only me.
yes, alone .
we could have done this part together-
yes, i grieve .
because i mean it when i say forever -
onward now
strong enough somehow
to breathe
to just be.
