One
Manic
Man
In spite
Ignites
The world
Raining hell
Upon
Innocent
Souls once content
With simple living
And little more
Than roof and table
To meet their daily need
He wrests this from them
In his vain, incessant greed
For power and influence
And all that ever meant
More to him than sanity
But now he sees his enemy
They stand, bloodied in the fight
Cry “Freedom!” from his fearsome might
And raise their flags long into the night
As families and children die
The entire world stands helplessly by
So tightly bound both hands and wretched feet
Such need for wealth and security
And endless reach for yet more energy
Complaints resound, and these rising threats oppress
Once blue skies now turned black with war’s distress.
