One Giant Leap to Lombardi
An abecedarian poem celebrating the 40th anniversary of the New York Giants' first of four Super Bowl Championships

Armored in royal blue, the Giants marched with might,
Big Blue Wrecking Crew, defenders ruled the night.
Coach Parcells paced the sideline, fierce and shrewd,
Defense anchored by Taylor, LT the brute.
Eleven wins in the regular season grind,
Fierce front four sacked quarterbacks blind.
Giants Stadium roared under winter skies,
Heroes rose in the playoffs, no room for compromise.
In the Meadowlands they built their iron wall,
Joy in the trenches where linebackers brawl.
Kicking off the drive with Simms at the helm,
Lawrence Taylor devoured backs like a realm.
MVP honors later for Phil's golden arm,
New York faithful cheered the Super Bowl charm.
Onward through Chicago winds and cold,
Passing tests with heart, turning bronze to gold.
Quarterback Simms carved precision in the air,
Rushing Ottis Anderson, a back with flair.
Super Bowl XXI dawned in Pasadena's glow,
Twenty giants strong, putting on a show.
Unstoppable force met Denver's Orange Crush,
Victory 39-20, a thunderous rush.
Wrecking the Broncos' dreams in the final stand,
X-factor was the line, controlling every hand.
Years etched in glory, the ring forever shines,
Zenith of a dynasty born in '86 designs.
