Gone too soon I was left in the cold No one minded Saying you were too old My last gift, I could never give to you I held onto it, not knowing what else to do As the weeks passed, I had no clue There was one left for me, given by you As the bells of Christmas Eve gave way To sound out Christmas Day A light shower of white filled the night Unbelievable to my eyes was the sight That lifelong wish only one person could have known A sign from you to reminder me that I was not alone Our last Christmas may technically have been the prior year Yet this final gift was a sign you were still near That one winter’s night I will always remember That even time and space could not severe The bond we built, forged with tough love As you continue to watch me from the heavens above
