One Dozen White Roses

The death of two fathers

One cold white afternoon

***

A white delivery

On my tiny little street

***

One dozen white roses

From my long-time best friend

***

A sweet and white sympathy

For the loss of my father

Eighteen days earlier

***

A white friendship

She is the first one I told the news

She was sad for me as for her

For she knew my father as I knew hers

***

A sweet and white ignorance

Two days later

No white flowers will help her

Recover from how she will lose her father

***

One cold white wall

I stared for a long time after her call
