Poor girl,
How boldly you once had stood!
Unapologetic, ...and proud.
Undeniable to all that looked!
With a laugh that was contagious,
and a smile so very sincere.
A future filled with possibilities,
and a present without a care!
Indescribable how life is fleeting.
How quickly today becomes the past.
Dreams inevitable to be accomplished,
Now regrets, beyond your grasp!
That laugh that you were known for,
now replaced by so many tears.
The girl blessed with unlimited potential,
yet nothing to show after all these years.
Where is it that, that pride has gone?
Why you hang your head in shame?
The woman that has replaced that girl,
Still carries her same name!
Though time may not appear to be your friend,
All is still not lost!
Fight for that girl inside of you,
No matter what the cost!
Everything that girl once had,
is still inside of you!
Put away the doubt for just a bit,
And believe it to be true.
The woman today, may have to fight!
Dig deep inside her soul.
To manifest the dreams once had,…
and finally become whole!
