A short piece written to say there are no second chances once someone walks away, there's no coming back, no do overs.
**********************************************************************
Were you here
Yes you were,
But then you left
It's all a blur.
***
It was easy for you
You made no impression,
I don't know your voice
Or facial expressions.
***
I don't remember
The music, your face,
Not even your name
Can't feel your embrace.
***
Didn't listen
Never heard,
Tales of love
Not a word.
***
Who are you
I no longer know,
That's in the past
You didn't show.
***
I knew you once
Yes you were here,
It meant nothing
You disappeared.
***
Don't point out my tears
Or I'll laugh at you,
Mister, I never cry
No one will believe I do.

As one door closes, another one opens. Be brave and close any doors that are no longer working for you. Open as many new doors as opportunity allows.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
