Once More Into The Season

Winter, spring, summer, fire season, then fall?

It grows in the night, fueled by the hunger of the day

Bringing with it a ravenous, dark, and insidious appetite

Fueled by the embers of a world that long since took it for granted, you'd say

When did the darkness become so accepted, and did we lose the fight

None knows the heat like those who walk in its destruction

The hunger that raped and pillaged the world below as it rose into the skies

It bears down on you mercilessly, with no goal but devastation

And it becomes so evil it's something you grow to despise

It grows with a life of its own

A beating heart, and character and life from within

It requires one or two, but its life can start alone

Requiring brains to ascertain where it all will begin

Do you step into the heat

Let the fires burn

Will you win or will you be beat

Ending when you finally learn

The time for talking and disputes is over long ago

The world is falling into the fire

Will you get it right or fail slow

Survival should be your desire
