Fire to the candle's wick before my pen writes
Flashback to what Matthew wrote in chapter 5
Trying to understand as questions grow roots inside
I am trying to understand , had to make it amplified
Being poor in spirit, gets you the kingdom
But if I let the worries all go, what if more come?
The more I try to empty my spirit, the more things tend to blossom
If you take it all from me , will I finally have the sense to true freedom?
Mourning comes with comfort, atleast that was the promise
Do I have to walk around for 40 years before I can recieve it?
Even if it happens, what if I start feeling unworthy?
Or what if I pass the comfort to one who needs it with more urgency ?
Passing down Earth as an inheritance to the meek , thinking of Moses
Anger, feeling unworthy, wondering around the world mapless
Things I can relate to, but he was regarded as being meek's beacon
What if I don't have earth on my wishlist? So much for being the meek one
Satiety being promised, found in dishes filled with righteousness
I still struggle with that word, I guess this hunger might forever go on
But atleast I will admit it on an empty stomach and infected colon
If that is satiety's condition, Topiramate for this game of chess
Mercy seems pretty straight forward, I give that away freely
My shortcomings and failures like a blockbuster on a large screen
So forgive me if I highlight how I feel about it so vaguely
A pill I give to others, allergic reaction to my own system
On one hand, the heart is said to be decietful
On another, to see Him , your heart has to be pure, almost see-through
I could ask for a clean heart , follow the steps of David
But if I miss the mark again, was my prayer void or spirit jaded ?
If I sacrifice my peace for peace would I still be called your son?
If protecting my peace leads to war, Can i keep the "peacemaker" tag on?
Worried of being lost in the blessings that I forget who promised them
Not worried about these blessings, I just want a stronger bond at the end
One without strings attached, rather focus on the chords on healthy strings
People heard the sermon in person, that's the real blessing if you ask me
