I took her word for it and kept on grinding. I started being featured in the paper regularly, and more people were recognizing my talent. But the main people's approval that I sought out the most were my parents. I updated them regularly about my success and they just didn't seem to care. No matter how much I was making, they wanted me to get a "real" job. And that broke my heart. The two people who I thought would support me the most in my journey, were discouraging me instead. It was really a let down. But I didn't let it stop me.
