grief finds

- clings -

to the life-raft motion

of grey lead in notebooks

fingers on keys

**

and we write into existence

what isn’t

and remember what is

and imagine what

might have been

**

thank you

for writing

and sparking my grief’s movement

for giving me a space to hold it

leave it intact and transform it

all at once

this was a response I wrote a while ago, after reading Shyaire’s poem, pictured above. i remembered it after seeing the prompt below. and while i didn’t write it exactly as the prompt suggests, it fits in a way (and creative license, right?…right??). i’ll also attempt a “proper” following of the instructions.
