Omer 12 - Still here

hod of gevurah

By Chaia LeviPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

By grace of mountains,

chaotic endurance,

Hebraic neuroses,

pathological defiance:

still, we are here.

Still, I am here.

Written in stars and marrow,

fingertips and molecules,

we remain eventual, inevitable.

I remain eventual, inevitable.

Stranger in a strange land,

tending to new wounds

rubbing old scars,

still I remain.

Still, we remain.

Heart drips true as the

same blood pumps through.

In silver and gold,

with my face to the same sun

from eons ago

that touched the faces

once known to me

thousands of years ago,

I sing the old songs with new cords.
