Old White Rabbit

Will you be able to escape Time's grasp?

Old White Rabbit - Allyssa LeBel

Time is certainly inevitable.

There is absolutely no escaping its harsh grasp.

When your smile is pure and your soul is spotless, time seems to go on and on for eternity.

The days may seem to drag and the nights are so beautiful to witness. The laughter is spread for eons and learning and growing is what keeps you young.

Days you've spent with your friends are memories that you'll hold on forever.

Heartbreak seems like the world is ending, but, you look back a year later and it's not even a thought in your mind.

When you get older, the cruel uncertain reality sets in that time almost moves at the speed of light. You'll blink your eyes and you'll be closing them once again just to be released to the universe as your last breath escapes your lips.

Time passes ever so quickly and things you've thought would last forever are over in one moment.

You race against Old Father Time to accomplish everything you've ever set out to do, just to feel as if your grasping for nothing. Time is moving too fast. You want so badly to take a breath, to stop the world for only a moment so you come to realization with your hushed thoughts, only to hear them screaming, "RUN! You don't have much time."

Again, you're faced to run a hopeless marathon to reach all of your dreams, all of your hopes. Everything you want from your life only to be faced with the end with many regrets.

Sometimes you'll think back to your childhood when everything was so simple and so easy. You didn't feel like you were getting older, the world was a beautiful place, and you could do anything you wanted to. Anything was possible when Time was on your side.

Anything to bring a genuine smile to your face. You were your own world. But, now you would do anything just to breathe that some air again. To take a moment to know for certain what you wanted from life.

Time waits for no one. It's crazy to think how badly we all wanted to grow up, just to reach this platform to be more disappointed than anything in your life.

Time is so fleeting. Mere seconds escape into hours which leave you wanting more time in the day.

Time feels like you're traveling down a twisted rabbit hole, falling and falling. Objects, projects that you wish to complete and you never do, friends, family, other opportunities pass through—quickly escaping your vision with a tic-tock, tic-tock rhythmically exploding your mind.

You realize that you're unable to loosen the grip that Time has on you. You're screaming, but, not sound demands attention.

You stumble back into reality and you're staring into a darkness. A darkness that immerses your soul causing your heart to pound against your chest.

So many things to accomplish, will you have enough Time to complete them? So much life to live, will Time allow you to live it?

Time doesn't wait for an old white rabbit.
