Old Lady Thinking

I am not a poet

My brain does not work in rhyme

Very rarely am I inspired to write a poem

So many do it so much better than I

Why should I bother

See I have to think real hard to write a poem

Too damn hard

Too old for most men to make my heart go flutter, flutter

Too tired to try to raise the dead

Finding new ways to please myself

These adult toys sure are fun

I like being old

Walking slower is so relaxing

I get to see all the things I missed when walking fast

Taking naps are wasted on babies

Just taking it all slower now

Appreciating the flowers

Listening to the birds

I wonder where that plane is going

Just being is alright with me

Busy as I choose

Set my own schedule

Some days it rips

Other days I do not bother to get up
