Red
Blood spilled through history
Under skin the color of misery
For all that has been seen
Clouded judgement still obscures our dreams
White
In absence, pristine
Purity tests so obscene
Privileged masters of fate
Divide colors to date
Blue
Thin lines remark lives matter
Azure veins gleaming before the splatter
As distant as the sky
Still oppression in disguise
Patriotism is acknowledging our failures
Obligations
Inequalities
Achievements
Mistakes and missteps, yet
Our aspirations should never cease
For one generations confusion and hatred
Can become another generations wisdom and peace.
