A Poem

Getting old is realising how young you always were,

And that maturity never had to kill childhood.

It was never any choice you made,

But rather the ones you accepted,

From those with little life left,

But still years ahead to live,

That ended you before your time.

You are young everyday,

Only truly too old,

When it is your last.

It can come any time,

So why be in a hurry,

To wait and waste;

You’ll have more than enough time,

After all of this for all of that.

Remain the child you always were,

And let the next generation know,

They don’t need to die to grow up.
