The scars on my skin are my badges.

Badges from burns,

Medallions from fights.

Trophies of my mental wars.

Each badge has a memory,

A record,

Of my struggles.

Of my plights.

Of the monsters that used to haunt me.

But these are my scars.

No one else has a matching set.

And that's fine.

Because it's all just for me.

These are my badges,

My medals,

My trophies.

These are mine.

The scars on my arms,

The blemishes on my thighs and belly,

They tell me a story.

They tell me MY story.

And even if someone else has their own scars....

Then that's THEIR story.

No two maps of keloids and blemishes are the same.

I am unique.

WE are unique.
