Hearken thee, O hollow night,

where graves sigh and bones take flight

to thee, I surrender my mortal name

draw forth thy veil, take your claim

*

By blood pricked thrice upon a thorn,

leave naught but a vow sworn

I wind this golden lock into a braid,

let the shadows in to seal my fate

*

By breath of crow and wolf's low hymn,

I still my heart to a silent whim

let my earthly home be forgotten

and my ghost by the twilight begotten

*

By rivers dark and willow's weep,

I wash my hands where secrets sleep,

water grim, cleanse me of my sin

and let the forbidden spell begin

*

With my last breath and evening's sigh,

I fade from flesh 'neath moon-swept sky

O vanishing hour, come take thy due

cast me far, hide me well and true
