a sliver of sun's light

barely seen in the evening sky

but I saw the spectacular of you

hung on a vast canvas of blue

and now you make a statement

a shiny sliver of light

reflected against the backdrop

of an indigo sky

speckled with stars and wishes

a celestial ballet set to the

music of angels

dear crescent moon

will you save a little light
