I am not religious. Nor am I a believer though like many, 99% began life in a church somewhere and thus, in some way, have been touched by some kind of religion. I find it difficult to reconcile the picture by Voyager taken 37 billion miles from Earth as it barreled its way out of our solar system to an importance implied to our "pale blue dot" by a nameless, faceless god. But i cling to shards of faith and hope in Karma and reincarnation as we rape and sully the beauty of this world. Peace
Brothers and Sisters..
Let us gather upon this perch..
On this old and gnarled birch..
Pick up where the gods did leave,
with a sob..
and with a heave.
A story written out in pen..
onto the skin of this tree's brethren..
and if in time...
we learn to live 1000 years,
to overcome our smallest fears..
we will still wish upon a thousand more,
for the point that is a sore..
of it all being done too soon.
With an end in sight that we regret..
for a life not better written,
much less,
spent.
It is...
the Splendid Melancholy..
of the song so sad,
so beautiful'
so brave..
That it almost feels sacrilegious..
to not feel good..
of what is meant to be confessional.
It is the beauty of a caterwaul through an autotuner,
with deleriance removed..
leaving only the goosebumps giving way
to the joy that made one stay
to the end..
of the magnificent wreckage
Peace
