They say when life hands you Lemons

Make Lemonades

Did anybody ever tell you what to do with bitter kolas?

They say if at first you don’t succeed

Dust yourself up and try again

Did anyone intimate you of what to do

When you’ve failed the umpteenth time?

They say expectation is the mother of manifestation

Did anyone ever tell you what to do

When it seems like it is the father of frustration?

They say it’s better to have loved and lost

Than not to have loved at all

Did you ever ask what to do

When you heart is incapable of giving or receiving

any iota of this so-called ‘love’?

Many a time we go through life experiences

That make us want to just end it all

So many other times we tend to doubt the existence of the one who made it all

After all if he made it all, he should be able to give us all

Still, we wonder if we were just predestined

For the circumstances we face

Or why have we been chosen outta the multitude

To go through all these?

we say

This mirrored my thoughts as I proceeded to church on sunday

If I wouldn't have my heart desires

At least he wouldn't rob me of his presence

As I tried to find a bloom to the gloom I was in

Then his word came through his servant

'Let it play a while.......'

How many of us have tried finding that particular part of a track

And eagerly we fast-forward, rewind and still not get it

Then we let it play after being frustrated and tired from searching

And voila the part comes

This is like life’s look-alike

If only we could just let it play a while

Quit the strugglings and agitations

Be calm, still, quiet

And let it play a while………

And may virtue continually flow from the heart, to the pen, to the paper...!
