The grey sky
tries to hold the sun
if only for a moment
before her burning gaze
incinerates Fog's folly
a gentle breeze is ushered in
to herd the tiny droplets
away from Sun's glare
they giggle as they float by
this isn't their first rodeo
whenever the cool air bends
to kiss the warm earth
they'll rush in
a silent smiling stampede
a shrouding crowd cloud
upon the morning waking
just enough obscurity
to obstruct clarity
Fog clocks in to quench
the thirsty earth when
Rain takes time off
Sun tells Fog it's
quitting time.
