All I’ve ever wanted

Was to keep the purity

Of an unopened eye.

One free from the perversions

of the land it wanders.

For too long

I allowed my body to travel

Unaccompanied by the

Gift of sight.

For too long

my feet

have been married

to the ball and chain

of a one eyed savior.

Preaching

her guide to my long lost vision.

Being led

not by sight

but a mirage.

I spent so long

Trying to evade a disease

Blind to the realization

that it was already

within me.

Within the fear of the knowledge

that an open eye is the purge of

impure desires.

The moment it dawns upon you

that the cave you called home

was merely the mouth

of the Beast who preyed on

you.

This is not an apology.

It's a love letter to my eyes.

It's the bliss of lying on the edge of a revelation.

It's a way for me to let you know I remember

the tears you shed

When I told you

Every vision is a blessing.
