Ode to the Moon

a short poem

By Kate LawderPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

the portal opens just above my crown

recovering lost arts, ancient and sacred//

dare I cross that bridge?

many Fools have met their fate

seeking eternity//

wandering in the Moonlight

•••

time to jump the broom!

no longer waiting, languishing

no more writhing in agony

or desperation//

release - freedom - liberation

of the self

where lack ends and prosperity begins//

calling in our abundant birthright

together, this time

“none of us are free until we’re all free!”

she cries to the crowd

the rhythmic chanting flows like water

a crescendo

a wave

a flood//

transmuting the memories of our exquisite pain

into a container

for our Joy.

surreal poetry
