Ode to the Blue Mountains Train.
V-Set
Oh Blue Mountains express how I loveth thee. You carry me from place to place and give me such sights to see. You stop sometimes to pick up those who don’t follow the rules, but you don’t care about those silly “of all ages” fools.
The acrid smell of your creosote rails, does not deter from your beautiful metallic sails.
You’ve seen a lot of trauma for fifty years of rides, but you’ve kept your word of late you’ve stayed on time.
It’s hard to imagine that soon we’ll have to say see ya! As you’ve been tossed out by the state government, spending all their money in South Korea.
The flatlanders love you too, as you fly them faster than any other service, but most of us from the mountains secretly wish you were just here to serve us.
You hold a special place in our hearts travelling high on your pride and distance travelled, making whoopee noises as you enter the tunnels.
Admittedly sometimes we mistake you for others, the Newcastle train does wear the same colours.
In the last fiscal year you carried seven million, six hundred and seventy thousand patrons, but soon it will come time to give way to the new engines.
Oh Blue Mountains express how I love you so, but soon it will be time to let you go.
