Ode to Silence

Splendor

By Iosefa ManuPublished 5 years ago • Updated 5 years ago • 1 min read

Silence is more powerful

Than sin

—More powerful

Than hate

Then again

Is it fate?

Kept in silence

Because of noise

And all that violence,

Destroying the ability

To listen

—Again

Be quiet!

For a second

Let me hear

Absolutely nothing

For a change,

Listening

To my—

Heart.

Beat.

“Splendor”

Love doesn’t exist

She made sure of that

Then, you came around

I didn’t expect this

Something resuscitated

—The life

Right back into me

Now, I can

Breathe—

Again

A million in one heart beats,

Beating at the same time,

Rising higher than the sunrise,

Swooping down with one swing,

Kissing your lips
