Oh, Windowpane, you transparent muse,

A barrier so clear, yet full of views,

You stand between the in and outdoor stage,

A silent sentinel, yet filled with sage.

You laugh at curtains that claim to hide,

The world's secrets, in which you reside,

A reflection of both joy and sorrow,

Today's bright sunshine, and cloudy tomorrow.

I glimpse through you a cat on a sill,

A neighbor's antics, or a weathered hill,

You show me raindrops racing to the ground,

Life's trivial pursuits, in you are found.

You've heard the dreams whispered at dawn,

And seen the dance of each fresh-trimmed lawn,

You bear the smudges of curious hands,

And reflect the world in shimmering strands.

Oh, Windowpane, you humorous glass,

Your clarity's wit, none can surpass,

From the grand landscapes to a buzzing fly,

You hold life's mirror, and that's no lie!

With you, a room's never a mere cage,

You're the frame of life, a living stage,

A pane so simple, yet endlessly wise,

You're the everyday humorous surprise!

So here's to you, Windowpane so bright,

A window to humor and sheer delight,

You show us life's complexity and fun,

A pane, yet a world, and never done.
