Ode Of Freedom

A Peaceful poetry

Freedom is, a basic human right.

Walking down the street, and knowing you'll be alright.

Frolicking on the way to the beach, a park, a school, a friends, a store in confidence.

Nothing bad should happen, right?

Can't I take this train, this bus, this cab, or this ride with the ability that I can trust.

That no matter what protection is a must.

Freedom is a fine line between the seen and the unseen.

A truth or a lie, and the truth will set you free that is why.

Freedom is hugging your friends, or holding your family close not in terror, but in safety.

A handshake to or FRO a stranger whether in greeting or in meeting.

Ode to freedom, for which many men have and have had to fight.

For the ability of mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers,

Aunts, Uncles, Grandmothers, and Grandfathers to have lived and live their life.

Freedom is, a state of simply being and a safekeeping.

A security in the youngest ones upbringings.

Not having to see fear in their parents eyes.

Something that means not having to hear the city cry.

Freedom is, not an ignorance, but a light.

A light that everyone deserves to have to see,

A light that everyone deserves to shine.

Freedom is a design defined by justice,

Something that is a moral, and Devine.

The choice to be, and not be sucked in by the fear caused by society.

Not having to be a victim of animosity.

Freedom is not living in anxiety of violence,

Not having to hide, or lack the ability to sleep drink or eat whether it be by day or whether it be by night.

It is an education, and a path of decision.

Of all the things that freedom is, and so many things that it is not.

Freedom means parking safely in a parking lot,

and that is if you have a car, a van, or a motorcycle.

It means not having to fear for your life,

or the life of thy animals, neighbors, children, a cousin, a sister, a brother, a father, a mother, or any ancestor for that matter let alone a husband or a wife.

Not having to see buildings around you go up in flames.

Freedom is the choice to choose words,

the words you can use, whether in opinion or in facts.

It is an expression of self,

the ability to keep any desired book on your shelf.

It is a right to believe,

openly give and receive.

An unchained bird that cannot be caged,

Behind any door at all, and that is after one has reached the age of eighteen,

Freedom means being able to take a walk at night, in the morning or sometime during the day,

watching kids or people safely play, or being on the other side of the fence that is open to come and go.

Games, sports, or something so.

Freedom is something that everyone who isnโ€™t locked away for doing wrong deserves indeed.

Freedom is walking down the avenue with the sky a midnight or sky shade of blue,

Seeing the stars shine instead of a Smokey grey or blackish hue.

No fires, alarms, or smoke filling up the sky or ringing in the ears with questions as to who what when where and why.

Freedom is openly believing, seeing, and breathing.

It is not a suffocation, or blinding for it is a freeing, a feeling.

An understanding that at any moment something bad isn't bound to happen.

Freedom is a declaration, an Independence,

A firm foundation that cannot be swayed.

Freedom is a beautiful thing, tis a way people can sing without using words.

Freedom is going on a hike, riding on a bike, swinging at the park, walking in the water, and getting ice cream.

It is a lot of little things, and it is a big thing.

Freedom is white, freedom is blue, and freedom is red too.

Whatever colors freedom is to you, and if none one seeks refuge to its hues.

Freedom is toes in the sand, days in the sun, or watching the stars under the sky after the day's finally done.

Freedom's a teacher, a leader.

Freedom is watching the ocean waves, or a river flow and this is something that I know.

It is a song that can be played, it is an open gate, and sometimes it's just a grassy field.

A rose garden, or a hilltop mountain a scenic view, in a group of one, three, eight, or two.

Ode to freedom, to name a few, what is freedom, what does it mean to you?
