October's Secret Garden
Strolling through October... 🛣️

The flowers whispered secrets of a place where September always seems to escape to have a siesta or a snooze...they were never sure why...
🛣️
But they knew it had something to do with the surreptitious path that led to the Garden Realm of October.
"Follow the Yellow Brick Road". The Zinnia advised.
"Really, did you steal that from somewhere"?
She only laughed, "well, there is no monopoly on words and colors - and roads are no one's property".

"Very true. Thank you kindly, zinnia". She bowed her petal-ed head.
Along the road I skipped, like a child again, living in Dorothy's magical world. Surely, I should at least have a pair of ruby slippers to complete the ensemble...but I was not ready to go home just yet. No clicking of heels for me.
And so I arrived at the gate to the land of October.

............I gently pushed it open and was greeted by an unimaginable array of fragrant aromas and an abundant colors of wonder...the weather felt just right...not too hot, not too cold. Goldilocks would approve. It was like a late summer afternoon with clear skies, a gentle breeze, and a warm, comfortable temperature that made every outdoor activity enjoyable.
"The sun always shines brightly here", the Amaranthine Amaranthus flower expostulated, bouncing vociferously, so happy to see me.
Along the pathway were flowers of every variety, gently waving or nodding in the breeze.
On one side, Bluebell Whisper leans in first, their bell‑shaped heads chiming silently.
Meadow Lace Anemone flutters beside them, petals trembling like tiny flags of surrender to the breeze.
Pink Windblush Cosmos twirl like parasols caught in a dance as the wind nudges them, and they spin, delighted, scattering soft pink reflections across the pathway.
On the other side...
Golden Drift Marigold bob like lanterns on invisible waves. Each nod sends a pulse of warm gold into the air, as if the wind is painting with light.
Silver‑Edge Lilygrass bends in long arcs, blades gleaming like liquid metal. When the wind passes through them, it looks like fingers combing through silver hair.
Twilight Lavender sways in slow, synchronized movements, releasing purple breath into the air — a scent you can see, drifting like smoke.
Everywhere there was a flurry of activity.
The Yellow Brick Road ran all the way through the town, with shops, stalls of food and flowers tended by humans and fairytale characters happily existing side by side.

Everyone greeted me with a pleasant and enquiring smile...inviting...
October’s beauty is the kind that never announce itself -
it just arrives draped in a silence that covers the world.
The air cools. Leaves turn glowing amber, russet, and wine‑dark red.
Ordinary streets feel enchanted - softened by rain and lined with lantern‑warm porch lights.
It’s a month that smells like woodsmoke and distant bonfires,
a season where the sky contuses early and the wind carries secrets.
October is a beautiful place because it feels like a threshold...
Here it's halfway to remembering, halfway to mystery...
inviting you to step deeper into its quiet, glowing world.
