October's GPS. (Gourds, Pumpkins and Other Surprises)
October/Steal From Yourself

A/N: stealing lines from this poem of mine to create something new. “Pruning the flower to the stem To keep them coming back again” while writing about October as a place.
October calls where moonlight falls
Lit streetlights down familiar halls
Leading the way to disconnect
Like footsteps finally reconnecting
Invitations shared before
With those familiar hardwood floors (of home)
Past and present intersecting
In a glorious season of reflecting
For those retrieting from the roam
Calling all wanderers back home
Rainbows pour into tree-lines
The sun spreads against fall's crimson skies
Cotton candy colored clouds tempt the senses
Slowing the pace to picket fences
Pruning the flower to the stem
To keep them coming back again
Pumpkins and gourds bring other surprises
Kids young and old donning disguises
October gifts her warming hugs
Heartstrings and sweaters gently tug
Chasing the chills and thrills of fall
Come one and all when October calls
