October Room No Gloss, No Gloom

October challenge

October is the month I was born.  I always find myself spending a lot of time reflecting in October.  In my mind, a room with a tranquil, calming influence traps me in these thoughts.  Enter my October room…

****

Welcome to my quiet retreat

In this room called October

Take the weight off your legs, and have a seat

Another year is over

Reflect away, you have all day.

You probably wondered why this room

Well, to be honest, you had no choice

Destiny has brought you here, there’s nothing to presume

No gloss, no gloom, it's just your voice

So, let’s get this party started.

You probably feel it’s way too soon

To look at the year just gone

What you thought that you were immune

Everyone has a treadmill that they're on

A deep breath now, no gloss, no gloom.

Another year has passed you by

And you think you have little show for it

But in this room there is no why,

It’s just a quiet place to rest a bit

So come, now give it another try.

Relax and smell the sweetness of the air

Only positive thoughts are allowed in here

Turn your mind off, you don’t care

Forget about things from the past year.

This is your October room

From the month that you were born

No gloss, no gloom, just you in a room

Release those fears all year you’ve worn

When you leave, a new cycle is beginning.

Till next time,

Calvin
